Holding Space

We all experience times of vulnerability; when it feels everything is falling apart around us, that the walls are crumbling, the ground's disappeared from beneath us, when nothing is as we knew it to be, when we're alone and exposed and scared. Instead of running from those feelings can we stay and tend to them with kindness? Sit, literally, sit and stay in that place of Great Sadness, of confusion, of terror, and softly breathe into it with Great Courage and Compassion. Rather than shying away from feeling exposed, shamed, groundless, allowing those hurting parts of yourself to come to the surface and comfort them like you would a small child.
